Research is a rewarding and patient-centred career. The research at UHS is focused on a holistic approach to patient care and significantly contributes to the further progress of healthcare for all.
We strive to ensure that research is considered as a treatment option for all eligible participants, and we work closely with clinical teams and within patient clinical pathways to ensure that research opportunities are met.
We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity within the Research Teams for motivated Band 6 Research Sisters or Allied Health Professionals/Healthcare Scientists (AHP/HCS), with full time and part time positions available. As a key member of the Band 6 research workforce, you will collaborate closely with the Senior Research Nursing team, the Research Education team, and a range of clinical and non clinical colleagues to support the effective delivery of high quality research across clinical areas.
We are pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for a full time Band 6 Research Sister to join the Cancer Research Team. The Cancer Research Team undertakes both early  and late phase clinical studies and delivers systemic anti cancer therapy (SACT). As this role includes the administration of SACT and the management of patients receiving cancer treatments, we will only be appointing registered nurses. Prior experience in research delivery and demonstrated competence in administering SACT would be considered essential.
We are pleased to offer an excellent opportunity for a part time Band 6 Research Sister/Healthcare Scientist to join our multidisciplinary Trust Wide Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Research Team. The portfolio includes studies involving adult patients requiring implantable cardiac devices—such as innovative pacemakers, including investigational devices—as well as a range of cardiac ablation procedures. A foundational understanding of cardiac rhythms and these interventional procedures would be highly desirable for this role.
While these roles are specific with specific requirements, there may be other Band 6 opportunities available.
